A true veteran of the Bay Area Comedy scene. He began his career in 1984 at the Punch line in San Francisco. His physical style and face making ability, quickly made him a club circuit favorite. He was a
finalist in the 1998 San Francisco Comedy Competition. And for TWENTY years, Mickey headlined the hottest clubs though out the western United States.
With Television appearances on. ABC’S AMERICA’S FUNNIIEST PEOPLE, NBC’S FRIDAY NIGHT VIDEO’S, and FOXTV’S COMEDY DAY IN THE PARK.
Mickey has opened for Willie Nelson, Huey Lewis and the News, Eddie Money, Air Supply, George Lopez, DL Hughley, Bill Engvall, Ellen Degeneres, Sam Kinison, Craig Ferguson, Bill Hicks, Lisa Lampanelli, EmerilLagasse, Kevin Pollak, Jeremy Hotz, Gilbert Gottfried, George Duke, Deon Cole, Richard Lewis, JimmyWalker, Franklin Ajaye, and Robin Williams.
In 2004 he penned his auto-biography, WHAT WOULD DON CORLEONE DO? A candid look at the bay area comedy scene and his single parenthood through the eighties and nineties. In 2005 he was cast in
the critically acclaimed stage production, THE RAT PACK IS BACK! He performed the role of Joey Bishop nightly at the RIO in Las Vegas, and in 110 cities across North America. (1,753 performance) In Las Vegas, his home for seven years, he directed and starred in the hip-hop video, VAN GUNDY’S THE MAN WITH THE BIG NUTS. Available on YOUTUBE. He plays the piano and sings and he is a five-year student of tap dancing guru, Tony Coppola.
2005 he moved back to the Bay Area to resume his Standup career and take care of his aging parents. Since his return, he’s been seen in Commercials for, NORTHERN CALIFORNIA HONDA, DINER,S DIRIVE-
INS, AND DIVES, and with basketball great Steph Curry, a commercial for DISNEY’S ALADDIN. Mickey’s career as a writer has flourished. Creating the pilot episode of AMBASSADOR TO BASURA for Riveting River Productions with writing partner Jeff Applebaum. He has crafted two screen plays and is appearing in a film that he co-wrote, and composed the music score, the documentary… “Vinnie TAKES Vegas, the CON MAN of Comedy."
Mickey coaches and writes for several of the bay area’s hottest comedians. He is a performer of stellar reputation.
